Keynote Speakers

Andrea Perry

Andrea Perry has a background as an integrative psychotherapist and has been a regular contributor on the Jeremy Vine Show on BBC Radio 2.


Andrea is a consultant for the British Council and has worked training Iraqi  Psychologists in Erbil after the trauma of the Isis crisis. She was Chair of the Child Centre for Mental Health conference programme for ten years.


In 2004 Andrea co-founded Worth Publishing's library of practical books to help vulnerable children, based on attachment aware and trauma-informed practice. Andrea has edited the content of the Reach2Teach and Reach4CARE software - child need's analysis and intervention programmes.

Mary-anne Hodd

Mary-anne Hodd is a lived experience speaker, trainer, and consultant who combines personal insights from growing up in the care system with her background in psychology to deliver compelling speeches.


Her focus is on inspiring positive change and providing practical guidance on understanding and overcoming adversity to professionals supporting children and young people.


Mary-anne leaves audiences with a renewed sense of purpose and lasting impressions.

Dr Rachael King BSc Hons, PGCE, MSc, Doc.Ed.Ch.Psychol

Rachael is an experienced, and HCPC registered Educational and Child Psychologist, with over two decades experience with children and families in a diverse array of roles, such as a teacher, family worker, lecturer, researcher and consultant.


Rachael has worked with Children in Care (CIC) and adoptive families throughout her work in the Local Authority and private sectors. Her experience ranges from supporting families, training, therapeutic approaches (including EMDR), and a broad range of work in a range of educational settings and children’s homes. Rachael has also spent time working in the education system in the USA in an urban multiple intelligence elementary school and as an Academic Program Director of Psychology and Child Development in a multicultural college.


Rachael is a passionate advocate of a whole child, needs based, relational approach which considers a child’s story, and promotes positive change.
